Dear Potential Dance Student,
I am convinced that participating in dance is a sure way to a healthier and longer life. For youth, they become involved in a physical activity that includes self expression, they learn about their bodies and how to care for them and they learn how to present themselves in front of an audience. For adults, moving the body is essential to keeping healthy and feeling good, plus there is music and a sense of accomplishment. In our current time of overwhelming unhealthy habits and high occurrences of obesity, join a dance class and live your life how you choose. I would also like to greatly encourage the enrollment of boys in dance. As a professional company we are in great need of male dancers. Taking a dance class can be the beginning of a great career in the performance arts for a boy and of course it is a great accompaniment to sports training. Hope to see you in class. Feel free to con tact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Michelle Diane Brown

Future Tap Ensemble:
Kacico Dance would like to announce an upcoming opportunity for experienced tap dancers. Kacico School of Contemporary Dance is currently in the process of creating a performance tap ensemble under the direction of Amanda Graor. Amanda is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She began tap dancing at the age of 3 at a local studio, and continued her dance training in ballet, jazz, and lyrical. She has attended master classes and conventions with well respected choreographers and performers such as Jamie Gustis, Johnnie Smith, and Joaquin Escamilla. She has choreographed and co-choreographed several musicals and has performed professionally in fashion shows around the Detroit area. Her vision for the tap ensemble comes from her desire to fill the gap between the younger competition age group and classes for older, less experienced tap dancers. She envisions this ensemble will give experienced tap dancers a creative outlet for their skills and talent, as well as provide outreach to the community by exposing audience members of all ages to the delightful rhythmic sounds of tap. If you are interested in becoming part of the ensemble, you need to sign up for a fall 2008 session Adult Tap class through the Kacico School of Contemporary Dance. The tap ensemble will then be formed and will tentatively begin working during the spring 2009 session at the Kacico School of Contemporary Dance.
