Booking Kacico Dance is a flexibly priced professional dance company with great variety and quality to serve the needs of all communities, large or small. The company is available for Residencies, Full Evening Performances, Informal Performances, Lecture/Demonstrations, Dance Happens Events, Commissioning a New Dance Work, Master Classes, and Workshops. Possible venues include proscenium theatres, art museums, universities w/ or w/o dance programs, gymnasiums, book stores, arts festivals, parks, public schools, private schools, parking lots, dance studios, weddings, fundraisers, private parties, corporate events and more. A performance or group of events can be created to fit your unique situation. The Kacico Dance repertoire includes these works by Artistic Director, Michelle Diane Brown: Above Morning, Opening Up, Face, Leashed/Unleashed, Something For Nothing, Two, Miss Otis, The Other Side of "O" (choreography by Deborah Hay) Come What May, Because . . . , Female, Seventeen, Puppets, Restless Leg Syndrome, The Old Church, Stand Up, Urban Sprawl, and more. Choosing Chelsea is an elaborately fun contemporary dance ballet for the whole family with choreography by Kacico Dance Artistic Director, Michelle Diane Brown and story created by Brown along with Marcy L. North. Young Chelsea, the main character, travels on a journey of choices encountering curious characters and puzzling situations: a shifty road, a trio of coiling snakes, closing doors, a shattered window that comes to life, sneeky leaopards and much more. Kacico dancers bring this enchanting contemporary dance tale to life. Come take the journey with Chelsea. A proscenium theater with fly space is most preferred. Sit, Stand, Walk, Speak, and Play is an urban styled performance for a unique location such as a warehouse. The Song and Dance Project is a captivating performance of live song and dance featuring KC Singer/Songwriters with Kacico Dance. Dancer Audition2009 season auditions will be held Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 11am-4pm Mailing address Kacico Dance 8621 S. Buckner Tarsney Rd. Oak Grove MO 64075 Kacico Dance is a professional contemporary modern dance company in the Kansas City area. Experienced and enthusiastic dancers (both male and female, wanting diversity) are wanted for the 2009 season with the potential of continuation into future seasons indefinitely. A monthly salary of $500-$750 depending on ability is provided for the months of Feb-October, 2009. (Possible touring could extend each season into November and December.) 2009 season is tentatively scheduled for Feb - October 2009. A 25 hr/week rehearsal schedule includes technical training in modern, ballet, yoga, improvisation, contact improvisation and weight training. Advanced level in modern dance, extensive performance experience plus strong training in ballet and good health and good physical condition are necessary. A cooperative, teachable attitude is essential. BA or BFA is preferred. Improvisation, contact improvisation, tap, pointe, acting, vocal experience and teaching experience are helpful. Please send a resume with three references, headshot, 3 minute performance video of yourself, and a paragraph explaining what your goals are for yourself in the next 5 years. Audition will consist of modern, ballet, improvisation, tap, contact improvisation, vocals and a personal interview. Audition cutoff date is December 1, 2008. Please include your e-mail address.
